Self-Publishing a DIY Approach

Publication has changed from what once belonged to an elite group of experts, publishers, and agents to anyone can self-publish (this author included).  The role of the agent to promote an author has diminished, while the author makes their own connections to the readers.  Emphasis on self-publishing is not so much about making money as it is to create and preserve content that has value for someone.

Author/reader relationships have changed due to technology.  Content Management Systems (CMS) have made it less complicated to publish.  CMS allows the author to maintain content from a central interface while they organize, modify, and publish their information.  Besides the more common WordPress CMS application, there are others available such as, Joomla, Drupal, ModX, and Concrete 5 to name a few.
